Location/Remote: Hybrid remote in Englewood, CO 80112 (i.e., 4 days onsite/week)
Employment Type: 9-month W-2/1099 contract (eligible to extend for multiple years)
Compensation: Up to $53/hour W-2 or $60/hour 1099
Job Summary:
This Engineer will be responsible for developing and testing new roadmapped platforms, specifically focusing on Wi-Fi 7 technologies, including Wi-Fi 7 Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), Wi-Fi 7 Extenders, and Wi-Fi 7 Second Vendor solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Wi-Fi technology, network optimization, and embedded systems development. This role requires a blend of research, design, development, and testing expertise to bring cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 products to market.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and test new roadmapped platforms, including Wi-Fi 7 CBU, Wi-Fi 7 Extender, and Wi-Fi 7 Second Vendor products.
- Design, develop, and debug the 802.11 MAC & PHY layer Driver and Firmware, including validation testing and optimization.
- Conduct research and development on Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) technologies, focusing on 320 MHz channel bandwidth utilization, QAM-4096 modulation techniques, and Multi-Link Operation (MLO) to enhance spectral efficiency and network robustness.
- Develop advanced network policies and configurations to exploit Wi-Fi 7 features.
- Design and deploy Wi-Fi 7 networks with 5G/LTE cellular backup.
- Architect and deploy MAP-T functionality within Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) routers and access points.
- Optimize next-generation Wi-Fi 7 mesh systems with integrated 5G/LTE cellular backup.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in designing, developing, and debugging 802.11 MAC & PHY layer Driver and Firmware.
- Strong understanding of Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) technologies, including 320 MHz channel bandwidth, QAM-4096, and Multi-Link Operation (MLO).
- Experience with network optimization techniques.
- Experience with cellular backup for Wi-Fi 7.
- Familiarity with MAP-T functionality.
- Experience with testing and validation of Wi-Fi products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with low-latency DOCSIS initiatives and L4S implementations on Wi-Fi.
- Experience with next-generation Wi-Fi 7 mesh systems.
- Experience with 5G/LTE technologies and their integration with Wi-Fi.
- Experience with Python and other scripting languages.
