Job Overview:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Manufacturing/Supply Chain Consultant to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and support of SAP solutions related to manufacturing, supply chain planning, and execution. You will work closely with our manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize our production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure seamless flow of materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations within a medical device or technology company and a proven track record of successfully delivering SAP solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and design effective SAP solutions to meet Intuitive Surgical's unique needs.
  • Configure and customize SAP modules such as PP, MM, and APO (or IBP) to support production planning, shop floor control, inventory management, procurement, and supply chain planning.
  • Implement best practices for manufacturing and supply chain processes, including production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), capacity planning, shop floor execution, quality management, and supplier collaboration.
  • Integrate SAP modules with other SAP modules (e.g., SD, QM) and external systems (e.g., MES, PLM) to ensure seamless data flow and process integration.
  • Develop and maintain functional specifications, configuration documentation, test plans, and training materials.
  • Perform system testing, user acceptance testing, and provide end-user training and support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP-related issues, and provide ongoing system support and maintenance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies and industry trends, and recommend innovative solutions to improve our manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Work with development teams to create custom solutions, enhancements, and reports as needed.
  • Manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior SAP team members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA) and internal quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in SAP PP, MM, and APO (or IBP) implementation and support, with a focus on manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Deep understanding of SAP module functionality, configuration, and integration points.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain best practices, including production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), capacity planning, shop floor execution, quality management, and supplier collaboration.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly preferred.
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: SAP ME, SAP LBN, SAP Ariba.
  • Experience in the medical device or technology industry is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 820) and their impact on manufacturing and supply chain processes is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • SAP certification in relevant modules (e.g., PP, MM, APO/IBP) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAP implementation methodologies (e.g., ASAP, Activate).
  • Knowledge of MES integration.
  • Experience with data migration and data quality initiatives.
  • Strong ABAP debugging skills.
  • Experience with Solution Manager.
