Storage & Backup Engineer

Job Title: Storage Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, GA || Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid 2-3 days only)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Job Summary:

1.Backup Management

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup solutions such as Commvault, NetBackup, and Veeam.
• Good to have experience with Dell PPBS (Druva) and Dell PPDM.
• 2. Monitoring & Troubleshooting
• Proactively monitor backup jobs and storage systems.
• Identify and resolve issues to minimize risks of data loss or downtime.

1. Compliance & Security

• Ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory data protection standards.
• Implement and enforce encryption and secure access policies for backup systems.

1. Storage Administration

• Manage SAN, NAS, and cloud storage environments to ensure performance, scalability, and availability.
• Hands-on experience with Dell storage technologies: PowerStore, Unity, PowerMax, PowerScale, and Data Domain.

1. Capacity Planning

• Analyze storage utilization and growth trends.
• Recommend capacity upgrades or optimization strategies for efficient storage management.

1. AWS Storage Services

• Manage AWS File Storage Gateway (share creation, deletion, file/folder recovery).
• Administer S3 Buckets and leverage scripting for automation within AWS environments.

1. Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and vendor teams to safeguard business-critical data.
• Provide technical support and coordinate with external partners when required.

1. Operating Systems

• Basic understanding of operating system layers.
• Experience working with both Windows and Unix platforms.

1. Networking

• Knowledge of networking concepts and the OSI model.
• Ability to troubleshoot network-related issues affecting backup and storage systems.

1. VMware

• Basic hands-on experience with VMware environments.
• Skilled in creating and managing virtual machines.
