Introduction

GavinHeath is partnering with our client, a leader in industrial and electrical infrastructure solutions, to add an Electrical Estimator to their team. This is a full-time position based in Phoenix, AZ or Denver, CO, focused on supporting large-scale industrial, commercial, and renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects, ensuring timely and high-quality proposal delivery.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine project scope and cost drivers.
  • Perform detailed material and labor take-offs using Accubid, HeavyBid, Trimble Estimation, and Bluebeam.
  • Obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing, analyze bids, and recommend optimal supplier selections.
  • Support project teams with cost analysis and value-engineering solutions to improve project feasibility and profitability.
  • Present estimates to senior leadership and participate in project handoff meetings to ensure alignment with operational execution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes (NEC), industry standards, and market pricing trends.

Required:

  • 3+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably in industrial or utility-focused projects (not transportation).
  • Proficiency with estimating software ( Accubid, HeavyBid, or Trimble Estimation) and blueprint review tools ( Bluebeam).
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC codes, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience with renewable energy and mission-critical electrical systems.
  • Established relationships with regional suppliers and subcontractors.
