Description
We are looking for a skilled NOC Technician to join our team in Somerset, New Jersey, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to support and maintain network operations while contributing to the reliability and efficiency of our systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Extend circuits from demarcation points to client equipment and participate in troubleshooting calls to ensure connectivity.
Perform network cable installations adhering to patch panel standards and proper labeling for copper and fiber cables.
Diagnose and resolve network issues using tools such as cable analyzers.
Manage server and network equipment lifecycle, including triaging, decommissioning, and disposal of outdated devices.
Configure settings on production servers, switch ports, and VLANs to support operational requirements.
Supervise installation teams in device setup and cable running tasks.
Implement and maintain patch panel infrastructure to meet evolving network needs.
Populate and maintain virtual databases documenting device and connection details.
Address troubleshooting and installation requests through an established ticketing system.
Requirements
Proven experience in network operations and troubleshooting within a NOC environment.
Familiarity with patch panel standards and cable installation practices for copper and fiber.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as cable analyzers.
Strong understanding of server configurations, VLANs, and switch port settings.
Ability to manage equipment lifecycle processes, including decommissioning and disposal.
Experience supervising technical teams in equipment installations.
Competence in maintaining accurate virtual databases for network devices and connections.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle ticket-based requests efficiently.
