This hybrid (2 days onsite) role is based in Washington DC and is through the end of the year with possible extension.

Eliassen Group is searching for a Creative Project Manager to work with our client who is the world's largest scientific membership association, with a mission to "advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and its people."

Our client's Publications Division has all the characteristics of a medium-large scientific and technical publishing organization. It is one of two divisions charged with serving the dual function of generating a reliable annual surplus to support broader programmatic activities, while also fulfilling a core goal of advancing knowledge in the field of chemistry and the chemical enterprise. The division publishes over 80 high-quality peer-reviewed journals covering the breadth of chemistry and allied fields, as well as numerous other high-quality products and services of benefit to the global community.

The division has U.S.-based facilities in Washington, D.C. and Columbus, OH, as well as worldwide operations in a growing number of international locations under its global arm, including but not limited to the UK, Singapore, China, and India.

Rate: $50 - $55 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:
The Creative Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating various projects within the User Experience (UX) team. The UX team supports the UX design and research needs of all our client's products including the maintenance and enhancement of existing products and the design of new products. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that our team's projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, stakeholder management, process development, organization, and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for UX projects, from inception through delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with the UX teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to define project scopes, objectives, and key deliverables.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, providing clear communication and updates to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including timelines, budgets, and status reports.
  • Prioritize the work of the UX team according to capacity, business needs, and deadlines.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation among team members.


Experience Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should be:

A collaborative team player who can build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.

Passionate for creativity and have a strong understanding of product design and agile processes.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within a creative or product-focused environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of creative processes and workflows, with experience collaborating with design, product, and marketing teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as ClickUp, Asana, Monday, or similar platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and collaboration tools (Teams, Slack, Zoom).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and creative sprint processes.

These skills/certifications would be a plus:
  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.).
  • Experience with design and research/analysis tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Qualtrics, Hotjar, Maze).
  • Knowledge of digital product design and/or scholarly publishing.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
