Position: Financial Accountant
Location: Casper, WY
Duration: Full-time (Hourly paid with OT)
Work hours: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
(This position occasionally requires long hours and/or weekend work.)
Summary:
This is a full time position that is responsible for performing accounting duties, participating in the monthly closing process, and preparing financial statements. Work involves a level of problem solving and a basic accounting understanding. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Enters data into accounting systems.
- Inputs journal entries.
- Performs account reconciliations.
- Performs transactional accounting entries.
- Validates data against system reports.
- Verifies that controls and processes have been followed.
- Ensures all entries are adequately supported, as per procedure
- Works with operations to problem solve.
- Works with vendors or customers to problem solve.
- Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes to ensure all relevant data has been captured in appropriate time period.
- Opens mail. Scanning documents.

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities: A college degree in accounting or supplemental work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Ability to correspond in an informative and professional manner.
- Ability to calculate financial amounts and indicators.
- Ability to carry out instruction and ask for help when needed.
- Preferred Education, Experience and/or Abilities - Oil and gas experience preferred.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Oracle is preferred.
- Additional Eligibility Qualifications: English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
