Job Details

The Data Governance Foundation Sr Analyst is responsible for contributing to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and workflow. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Effective communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.

Responsibilities:

Independently analyze and execute tasks that contribute to work streams focusing on broad range of Wholesale Lending data initiatives including data requirements, issues management, Data Quality rules, lineage, Data Governance, and taxonomy

Consolidate disparate information about Wholesale Lending data to ensure a sustainable understanding of how data flows through operational and analytic platforms.

Assist Data owners in institutionalizing an enhanced understanding of Wholesale Lending assets at granular, and aggregate level.

Gather and synthesize metrics on existing Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls principles, policies, practices, and standards, e.g., understanding industry best practices

Analyze data-related issues, tracking of ownership, target due dates, provide associated metrics and reporting.

Support resolution of technical issues by offering solutions to resolve complex problems, and by interpreting and advising on wholesale lending policies, guidelines, or processes

Liaise with multiple Data teams/departments, serve as subject matter expert for planning and analysis of Wholesale Lending data project deliverables and processes

Partner with business data owners to ensure maintenance of key artifacts and overall data quality improvements in central storage repositories

Consult with end users to support defining, and/or integrating processes to align with the enterprise Data Governance roadmap and/or Data Risk and Control framework and taxonomy

Monitor and report governance metrics including Data Governance adoption and maturity

Monitor alignment of processes across business, functions, and lines of business to the Enterprise Data Governance Policy and standards to meet its specific requirements

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

5-8 years relevant experience in a Data Governance, Data Management, or related area

Strong project management skills

Optimizes work processes by knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement

Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, while monitoring tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes

Ability to communicate effectively

Good understanding of Wholesale Lending concepts, procedures, and Regulations.

Proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education:

Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience required
