Immediate need for a talented Mainframe Infrastructure Engineers/Administrators. This is a 09+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in New York / New Jersey | Richardson, TX | Richmond, VA (Onsite). Pay Range: $50 - $60/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide infrastructure support for mainframe systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Administer and maintain CICS regions, DB2 subsystems, and z/OS environments.
  • Manage RACF security administration, including user provisioning, access controls, and compliance.
  • Oversee storage management (DASD, tape, backup/recovery, and performance optimization).
  • Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to resolve incidents and prevent outages.
  • Work closely with application and operations teams to support critical business workloads.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, system upgrades, and patch management.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, IT security, and audit requirements.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Key skills; Data-Center
  • 7+ years of experience in Mainframe Infrastructure Administration.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:
  • CICS Administration (regions setup, tuning, troubleshooting).
  • DB2 for z/OS (configuration, performance tuning, connectivity).
  • z/OS Operating System (installation, customization, performance monitoring).
  • RACF Security Administration.
  • Storage Management (DASD, HSM, backup/recovery, tape management).
  • Proficient in JCL, REXX, and automation tools.
  • Experience with problem management, change management, and incident resolution in large enterprise environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
