This position is within Laboratory Plastic Essentials (LPE) within our Laboratory Products Division (LPD) and is based in Rochester, NY
Position Summary
This position works with the maintenance manager and collaborates with them to support production needs through equipment reliability. They will use their engineering knowledge and experience to develop and complete improvement opportunities to eliminate or reduce equipment unplanned downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Support maintenance and operations team with engineering support to drive equipment uptime (OEE) and reliability Provide engineering support. Will trouble shooting and provide solutions on equipment breakdowns. Complete detailed spare parts evaluation to control risk by researching and identifying critical spares, including replacements due to obsolescence and reduce excess inventory. Define and modify preventative and predictive maintenance plans/schedules Identify top downtime reasons. Develop/complete improvement plans by metric performance including but not limited to OEE, MTBF, MTTR. Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Provide root cause failure analysis (RCFA). Support capital projects for equipment replacement and expansion. Comply with required quality, safety, and operation/distribution quality system documents - such as our quality manual and policy, good documentation practices, plant safety commitments, general safety requirements, personal protective equipment program, and good manufacturing and distribution practices

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $83,300.00-$125,000.00.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field with 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Eight (8) years of applicable experience as described in the knowledge, skills, and abilities section below may be considered for equivalency to education.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Demonstrated mechanical & electrical trouble shooting skills
- Experience in design or maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience working with maintenance and engineering teams in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with priorities
- Knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems, SAP preferred
- Experience with plastic molding machines preferred, but not required
