Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a talented, motivated Virtualization Systems Engineer.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs and plans network systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field;
• 3+ years of experience with virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware, etc)
• 3+ years' experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• 2+ years scripting experience (PowerShell most preferred, Python useful, Bash, Perl, Ruby, etc also acceptable)
• Deep Generalist across Virtualization Knowledge domains: networking - storage - compute - resource management
• Analyze existing virtualization environments and provide trending and predictions on Future usage
• Mid-level Linux Knowledge, RHEL preferred
• Have built/deployed a virtualization suite from ground up
• PKI experience
• Must have DOD Secret Clearance

Preferred Requirements

• Tenable suite (Nessus, security center, NNM) experience helpful
• Hands on Red Hat Satellite experience
• Hyperconverged infrastructure (Nutanix, VX Rail, Hyperflex, Simplivity, etc.) experience helpful
• Familiarity with Air Force TO/TCTO system
• Splunk experience
• Linux Patch/package Management
• Automation (ansible, puppet/foreman, etc.)
• Scripting (bash, Python, etc.)
