General Plastics Manufacturing Company in Tacoma is looking for a Senior Network Systems Administrator to join our incredible team!

We are a premier manufacturer of rigid and flexible polyurethane foam and build-to-print parts.

Commercial, military and composite manufacturing companies use our LAST-A-FOAM rigid and flexible foam sheet stock for its proven mechanical properties and extraordinary versatility. We work with our customers through the design process, feasibility, fabrication, and delivery of custom parts. From high-temperature tooling boards, core material or custom fabricated assemblies, our customers can expect quality, uniformity, and stability of materials from General Plastics.

POSITION SUMMARY:

General Plastics is seeking a Senior Network Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for supporting the network, server room components, and all associated hardware and software used to support the business. The ideal candidate will be able convey a genuine interest in solving issues with their internal customers and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Networking specialist (switching, routing, and firewall configuration - Aruba preferred L2/L3)
  • Cyber Security (EDR, SIEM, DLP, NAC, CMMC)
  • IT Project Management
  • Systems Administration (both Windows and Linux)
  • Enterprise server administration including VMWare, Hyper-V and Physical
  • Backups (ideally Unitrends)
  • Scripting (ideally shell, PowerShell, SQL)
  • Imaging (including WDS)
    AD configuration and maintenance (including DNS, DFS, GPO, etc.)
    Assists with vulnerability management program including patching and upgrades
  • Other Tasks, as assigned including some helpdesk support

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including documentation
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Analytical thinker with ability to methodically solve problems and predict challenges
  • Using Fortinet networking components (including firewalls, NACs, etc.)
  • Proficient with Infor ERP (preferred)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with Cad Cam, 3D printing (preferred)
  • SQL including queries, reports, backups and troubleshooting (Microsoft preferred)
  • Good understanding of ITIL (prefer certified)

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent skills and experience
  • 5+ years hands-on IT experience
  • 3+ years hands-on Network experience
  • A+ Certification
