Job Title: Data Architect

Location: Wilmington, DE or Alpharetta, GA

Contract

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern data platforms, data modeling, cloud technologies, and enterprise data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement end-to-end data architecture, including data ingestion, storage, modeling, and consumption layers.
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Define data standards, best practices, governance, and security guidelines.
  • Architect data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for structured & unstructured data.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements.
  • Optimize data systems for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate data technologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform).
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, metadata management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshoot complex data-related issues and lead root-cause analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling (OLTP, OLAP, dimensional, and data vault).
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL and experience with relational/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools and data integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.).
  • Experience with data governance, cataloging, and MDM tools.
  • Strong understanding of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and reporting ecosystems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
