Vaco has partnered with a client on the west side of Indianapolis to hire an Electrical Estimator for a full time, direct hire opportunity.

Position Summary:

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for analyzing electrical plans and specifications, developing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the bid process for a variety of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, labor costs, and construction practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and documentation to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical work.

  • Perform quantity take-offs to determine material, labor, and time requirements.

  • Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive bid packages and proposals.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to support bid strategy development.

  • Stay current on market pricing, labor trends, and industry standards.

  • Conduct post-project cost reviews to enhance future estimating accuracy.

  • Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to evaluate project conditions and scope.


Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential construction.

  • Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or equivalent).

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, systems, and construction practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines.

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

  • Licensed electrician (journeyman or master) or relevant field experience is a plus.

  • OSHA certification or familiarity with safety standards is beneficial.
