This is a 100% on site position in Long Beach, CA. this is a 2nd shift position from 5 PM to 3 AM (Sundays to Wednesdays). The training schedule will be Monday to Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM for a few weeks.


The Infrastructure Technician is responsible for providing support functions including equipment configuration, problem determination and resolution, follow policies, procedures and processes governing the use and operation of the company's global network infrastructure assets.


The Infrastrcture Technician will be involved on performing proof of concept of new tools and help with the implementation and testing before going to production. This position requires a heavy emphasis on event-based monitor the Global Network footprint and out of band solutions.


This position requires an emphasis on problem management, as well as building and maintaining positive business relationships with the IT Organizations, clients and vendors.


Fulfillment of responsibilities must be performed with a minimum amount of supervision.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Provide basic help desk support with a primary focus on LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity for end-users, promptly addressing hardware and software-related issues.

  • Configure and set up workstations, ensuring optimal functionality, with special attention to both LTE and Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

  • Assist in basic network management tasks, emphasizing LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, and ensure smooth operation.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and LTE/Wi-Fi configurations for reference and future troubleshooting.

  • Collaborate with team members to escalate and resolve complex LTE and Wi-Fi-related issues effectively.

  • Perform installations and configurations of multiple networking devices (i.e., Routers, Switches, Wireless access points, IP addressing, etc.) according to best practices.

  • Familiar with IT Service Management (ITSM) tool like ServiceNow

  • Work closely with the team leads helping with the labeling, tagging, burning, staging, and configuring equipment (Cisco switches and Cisco Access Points)

  • Team player and able to adjust if schedule changes with short notice.

  • Help if required on cutover and after cutover testing, these windows will be for the most part after hours.

  • Provide oral and written status reports to IT management




Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven 2 years of working experience in IT hardware support, preferably in an automation or stevedoring environment.

  • Strong understanding of hardware components such as servers, switches, routers, and industrial sensors.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.

  • Experience with network protocols and configurations (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, etc.).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to nontechnical stakeholders and clients.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexible schedule as needed, we are a 24/7 facility, must be fine with working graveyards and weekends.

  • Must be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) and pass an internal background screen.


Requested Not required:



  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) for networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.

  • CompTIA Network+ for a broader understanding of networking concepts.

  • SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) for advanced proficiency in SolarWinds solutions.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals for cloud-based networking knowledge.

  • Certified Wireless Network Associate (CWNA) for expertise in wireless networking technologies.
