RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a growing and established Engineering Technology Company that designs and manufactures Electro-Mechanical Products and systems has an opening for a Senior Electro-Mechanical Sustaining/Design Engineer position. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this exclusive search assignment. Summary:
An Electro-Mechanical Sustaining Design Engineer is responsible for a combination of electrical and mechanical sustaining engineering projects. These projects will mostly be product design related for cost reductions, VA/VE initiatives, continuous improvement, and/or minor design changes. They also could also be production equipment related for continuous improvement, efficiency and/or automation. An Electro-Mechanical Sustaining Engineer features requests, bug fixes, and product improvements through to process improvements; This position requires close collaboration with mechanical/electrical engineers.

Responsibilities include:
* Work with electrical and mechanical engineering design team members regarding Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives, cost reductions, alternate component approvals, continuous improvement, and minor design changes for all products
* Design and/or troubleshoot manufacturing automation equipment; Will also interface with Contract Manufacturers
* Please note: we are looking for someone heavier on the electrical engineering/design side

REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar field
* 5-10+ years of electrical engineering design and/or sustaining/support experience
* Seeking someone heavier on the electrical/Electronic engineering side vs. Mechanical engineering is highly desired
* Experience designing and/or troubleshooting manufacturing automation equipment is preferred
* Experience applying project management techniques toward on-time project completion
* Knowledge and ability to write test reports based on conducted testing
* Electrical and/or mechanical design troubleshooting/problem solving skills
* Consistently problem-solving methods and tools to quickly analyze problems, determine root cause of problems, and ensure a mistake proof corrective action to resolve the problems
* Working knowledge or familiarity in analog/digital circuit design and analysis is preferred
* Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, Wi-Fi, RFID, TCP/IP) is a plus
* Experience applying best in class Design for Manufacturability and Assembly techniques is a plus
* Familiarity with Test Equipment is a plus
* Mechanical engineering experience or familiarity is a plus
* Experience creating test fixtures is a plus
* Knowledge of low-power real-time embedded systems (MSP430, PIC) is a plus but not required
* Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment is a plus
* Experience in Waterfall and/or Agile NPD processes is a plus
* Experience utilizing SolidWorks software for mechanical design and/or modifications to products or similar 2D or 3D CAD Software is preferred.
* Previous RF circuit design experience is a plus but not required
* Knowledge of rechargeable battery technologies and power supply design is a plus but not required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
