Position Summary:
This position within the TEA ATG Clean Track team will involve the use of chemical engineering fundamentals and principles to develop, optimize and design new and existing wet chemical applications for the Clean Track BU. The position requires expertise in transport phenomena, thermodynamics, chemical reactions and reaction kinetics while having the ability to development predictive models and apply them to semiconductor industry applications.

The candidate will provide process insight, develop detailed and innovative models via computational simulations, and spearhead process and equipment technology development leading to development, improvement, and optimization of TEL chemical/physical processes, equipment, and technologies that solves complex, high-value problems.

The candidate should have a strong understanding in gas/surface chemistry, reactions, mechanisms, and computational chemistry modeling as well as experience in understanding, running, and programming scientific software in such field.

Responsibilities:

  • Build chemical models to better understand and optimize photolithography applications consisting of single wafer chemical fluid transport and reactions
  • Build chemical models into simulation software to optimize tool design and/or process conditions
  • Model chemical reactions on semiconductor surfaces.
  • Prepare CFD and/or finite element simulation to understand and optimize equipment performance.
  • Prepare predictive models to understand process performance for next generation device length scales
  • Collaborate with other scientists and engineers within development team
  • Fully document work to provide colleagues with enough detail to maintain engineering simulations and/or code.
  • Strong emphasis is placed on candidates that can find solutions to difficult problems through structured project management while working in a team environment.
  • Good communications skills are considered critical. The candidate will communicate project goals and status updates internally and externally.
  • Some domestic and international travel are required.

Education and Experience:

  • The candidate must have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics or equivalent field specializing in computational Chemistry.
  • Strong cause-effect analytical and troubleshooting abilities is required.
  • Multiscale modeling: experience using nanoscale phenomena to determine macroscale properties and predicting effects on the nanoscale when changing macroscale conditions is required.
  • Strong project management experience is required
  • Strong technical writing ability is required.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight is required.
  • Finite element and/or CFD simulation experience is required.
  • Extensive experience using COMSOL software is required.
  • Experience in coding with MATLAB, Python, etc. to solve technical problems is desired.
  • Knowledge of photo lithography and semiconductor industry is desirable.
