Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with hands-on experience in manufacturing automation and a strong foundation in software development using Angular and related technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript and CSS. As a key member of the FactoryTalk product team, you will be the lead developer on a team that will create a next generation integrated development environment (IDE) for the FactoryTalk Batch product. You will join a collaborative Agile development team and play a central role in both maintaining and modernizing our software architecture, evolving it to meet the future needs of industrial automation and supervisory control. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager and will be fully remote, working in the greater Phoenix, AZ area.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $114,720 - $172,080 with an annual target bonus of 5% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.

Job Description

Your Responsibilities:
- Develop, and maintain software components using JavaScript and TypeScript within the Angular framework and Rockwell's application framework.
- Help evolve the product architecture, incorporating modern patterns and technologies.
- Define user stories and development tasks based on the product feature roadmap defined by the FactoryTalk Batch product owner and product manager.
- Collaborate with teams (QA, UX, product management, DevOps, User Documentation) to deliver high-quality features.
- Use mainstream AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle
- Support full-stack development across database, server, and web components.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and use tools like Jira or equivalent.
- Use Git/GitHub or similar tools for source control, branching strategies, and code reviews.
- Write clean, maintainable code and support continuous integration and delivery processes.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Mastery of JavaScript, TypeScript and Angular framework
- User of generative AI based coding assistants and methods to accelerate software development (GitHub CoPilot, MCP, and similar)
- Experience working with and implementing manufacturing automation systems or industrial controls software.
- Experience using JavaScript libraries, web-services and mainstream standards such as GraphQL, JSON, REST and similar.
- Experience with user experience considerations, software design principles, and version control systems like Git.
- Experience with Agile development practices and common collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GitHub).
- Experience with Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk products or similar industrial control platforms.
- Exposure to Rockwell preferred web development technologies ( GoJS, Ag-Grid, Apollo GraphQL, Microsoft Playwright).
- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD tools, requirements management systems, and automated testing frameworks.
