OSP Carrier Project Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive OSP Carrier Project Manager to oversee a critical infrastructure project involving the transition of 9-1-1 services from legacy systems to modern fiber-based connections. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional project management skills who can effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless service continuity. The successful candidate will be instrumental in planning, executing, and managing the transformation of wire centers to support enhanced emergency communication services. This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
Responsibilities
- Lead the identification and assessment of all in-service wire centers to determine the presence of legacy 9-1-1 services and map existing copper-based connections to the appropriate PSAPs.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including defining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation in alignment with corporate goals.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure resource availability and alignment on project deliverables.
- Conduct detailed cost and schedule management, including developing budget estimates, tracking expenses, and maintaining project schedules.
- Identify potential risks and devise effective mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and compliance with regulations.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and internal teams, to ensure transparency and stakeholder buy-in.
- Oversee the quality assurance and control processes to ensure all project outputs meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
- Manage the successful transition of PSAPs from copper-based to fiber-based connections, ensuring minimal service disruption during the transition.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in telecommunications or infrastructure projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative approach to addressing challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience working in a regulated environment and understanding of compliance requirements related to telecommunications.
- Confidence and professionalism to engage with senior management and external partners.
- Experience with change management and defining acceptance criteria for project deliverables.
Pay Range: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
