Citi has established a centralized Client organization and strategy to strengthen how we deliver for clients across the bank and ensure that we deliver Citi in a consistent and disciplined way through a centralized view of our client strategy, segmentation, and coverage model. Citi's clients and customers are at the center of delivering our strategy. The Client Data Governance Office drives the planning and oversight for the adoption of Citi's data policy and standards to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and governance across the areas within the Client organization including resources management, credit management, research, marketing and content, coverage alignment, and client data.

In the Client Data Governance Office, the Remediation Lead role will drive and oversee the execution and delivery of regulatory remediation activities and commitments, and engage in data governance reviews, exams, and inquiries with regulators and within Citi.

The Client Data Governance Office - Remediation Lead is a senior level role responsible for facilitating all aspects of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role is responsible for defining the enterprise data governance strategy and/or Data Risk and Controls framework and roadmap, to ensure remediation of Data regulatory Commitments.

Responsibilities:
  • Drives and oversees the delivery of regulatory response remediation and execution efforts in the Client org (e.g., MR(I)As)
  • Partners with workstream leads and Operations, Finance, Risk and Compliance counterparts to determine and maintain the portfolio work efforts that will enable Client org to meet its commitments to global and regional regulators.
  • Define, structure, and establish an internal Client operating model within Client business area Product and Data Owners, with an immediate focus in Institutional Credit Management and Financial Resource Management, to successfully deliver on the Client remediation commitments.
  • Oversee and facilitate the association between regulatory remediation findings and data concerns and establish the subsequent overall Client oversight for data concern remediation.
  • Engages and provides support in data governance reviews, exams, and inquiries with Citi 2nd & 3rd LoDs and regulators.
  • Contributes to writing of regulatory remediation responses to data centric regulatory observations, findings, and inquiries.
  • Identifies and manages the dependencies across workstreams to ensure complete and timely delivery of regulatory commitments.
  • Proactively monitors Client org performance against Program key performance indicators to ensure complete and timely delivery of commitments.
  • Ensures Client org is actively participating in regulatory response and remediation efforts.
  • Prepares and presents regulatory remediation reporting updates to senior leadership and escalates issues and risks in a timely manner to expedite resolution.
  • Provides advisory services to functions, lines of business and regions on prioritization and requirements as needed.
  • Analyzes and identifies overlapping initiatives to resolve duplication of effort.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years relevant experience in a Data Governance/ Data Management/ Process Engineering or related area
  • Banking, Financial Services experience and Regulatory knowledge required.
  • Strong Data Governance, Data Sources, Data Insights knowledge
  • Project and Change Management experience (involving Data)
  • Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a Program or Project Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrates leadership in operational management.
  • Experience creating and executing against frameworks that improve the quality and value of data to meet regulatory commitments and enhance risk management.
  • Experience leveraging glossary, lineage, and data quality tools to drive governance.
  • Clearly demonstrates impactful communication, influencing and facilitation skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the big picture while paying close attention to detail.
  • General understanding of relevant banking regulations and supervisory expectations for large financial institutions strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Data Operating Model practices, Data Governance and Data Compliance within large, financial services firms
  • Outstanding executive communications skills
  • Demonstrated facility to interact and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to lead projects with multiple counterparts across organizations. Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
