Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Technical Architect who will support our NYS client in defining the high-level future state architecture of enterprise systems. This role is responsible for validating technical blueprints, mapping key milestones, and ensuring alignment across successive procurements and technology updates. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in confirming that strategic direction and project scope remain clearly defined and aligned with architectural and roadmap developments.
Duties:

Develop and review high-level future state architecture concepts.

Validate the technical blueprint to ensure it aligns with the organization's strategic goals.

Identify and map key interim architecture milestones to successive procurements and technology updates.

Examine and review the assumptions underlying the procurement roadmap.

Update the roadmap timeframes to reflect decisions made by leadership.

Incorporate changes in strategies observed in the market over recent years into the roadmap.

Review the planned structure for the SDI vendor procurement to ensure strategic alignment.

Confirm the strategic direction and scope of the role for the SDI vendor.

Assist in updating the SDI RFP based on technical architecture and roadmap updates.
Mandatory Qualifications:
-
20+ years experience of progressive career growth to C-level or higher with strong technical architectural skills.

15+ years of proven experience leading the design and validation of enterprise-level technical architecture, with an emphasis on long-term planning and strategic alignment.

5+ years of enterprise architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and their application to procurement and roadmap alignment.

7+ years experience in developing and refining enterprise-level technology roadmaps and identifying architecture milestones.

Demonstrated progressive leadership roles culminating in executive-level technical influence and decision-making.

Proven experience in technical architecture, preferably within the healthcare or public sector.

Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, procurement processes, and technology updates.

A strong understanding and ability to read and write RFP language.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to validate blueprints and update roadmaps.
Desirable Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture, project management, or related areas.

Experience working with regulatory bodies and understanding of state and federal healthcare regulations and policies.
