Java/AWS: CLT

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and support robust, scalable applications, work within Agile delivery teams
• Design, develop and maintain Java-based applications using the Spring Boot framework
• Build and maintain containerized solutions on OpenShift
• Design and implement scalable microservices and APIs
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, including SaaS providers
• Contribute to the design and implementation of security architecture, including integration with HSMs
• Capture and analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications
• Support application testing, release and maintenance activities
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support as required
• Work both independently and collaboratively within Agile teams
• Produce clear, well-documented code and technical documentation
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience, preferably in the financial services domain
• Proven experience working in agile delivery teams within complex enterprise environments
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement secure, scalable solutions using microservices architecture
• Solid understanding of payments systems and regulatory considerations in banking
• Strong grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD practices
• Strong proficiency in Java development, with experience spanning Java 11+ through to the latest versions (Java 24)
• Solid experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift or similar container orchestration platforms
• Previous experience working in banking/financial services, with a focus on payments
• Understanding of SaaS solutions and integration with external vendors
• Familiarity with security architecture and cryptographic components, including HSMs
• Experience working with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform)
• Strong grasp of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative team environment

Desired Skills:

• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate or equivalent)
• Relevant security certifications or experience working with HSMs and cryptographic standards

Pay range: $47.63 - $55.63
