Overview

TalentFish is casting a line for an SAP Cutover & Deployment Project Management Lead. This is a contract to Hire role based in Lisle, IL.

As the SAP Cutover & Deployment Lead, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of SAP S/4HANA cutover, deployment, and testing activities across enterprise systems while managing legacy system remediation and ensuring alignment with PMO governance.

This role will provide project leadership and cross-functional coordination across multiple IT workstreams, with a focus on deployment and cutover planning and coordination, testing, legacy system remediation, and ensuring alignment with PMO governance particularly within large-scale system implementations such as SAP S/4HANA.

What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 6+ years of IT Project Management experience, ideally within software development and enterprise environments.
  • Experience in deployment management and legacy systems remediation.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) and JIRA for task and project tracking.
  • Experience in at least (1) global SAP S/4HANA implementation, involved in deployment management, for FICO, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and MMD.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with senior leadership.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certification (preferred).

What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position)

Deployment/Cutover Coordination

  • Lead planning and execution of pre-cutover, cutover, and post-cutover activities, working with IT Project Managers, Business Process Owners, and business stakeholders.
  • Provide strategy, approach, deployment plans, checklists, and resource strategies to ensure successful new system delivery.
  • Manage go/no-go decisions, integration timelines, and cutover task lists. Manage detailed project deliverables for cutover and conversion, resolving discrepancies or process issues.
  • Deliver on key deployment milestones for Pre-Go-Live, Go-Live, and Post Go-Live.
  • Create and maintain deployment plan as per project and PMO governance or standards.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and PMO leadership.
  • Develop communication and escalation plans, policies, procedures, downtime processes.
  • Align blackout, cutover and deployment times with integration systems.

Testing Coordination

  • Coordinate testing activities across teams and ensure completion of all test phases.
  • Facilitate extract preparation, documentation, and test resources.
  • Develop, maintain, and track test plans/deliverables, schedules, and tracking processes.
  • Oversee integration and SIT testing sign-offs across legacy systems.
  • Communicate effectively with development teams, testers, and business stakeholders.

Legacy System Remediation

  • Identify and manage the decommissioning or integration of legacy systems.
  • Oversee data migration, system compatibility, and issue remediation.
  • Maintain issue trackers and provide consistent project reporting.

PMO Activities

  • Manage PMO governance deliverables, tracking, status updates and output related to deployment and Go-live.
  • Ensure alignment to project governance using ServiceNow (SNOW).
  • Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools.

Compensation Information

This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $65 - $71 per hour (W2) or $70 - $80 per hour (C2C), depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
