JD:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Application Support Manager to lead the support and maintenance of enterprise applications, with a strong focus on SAP Business One (SAP B1) and other general business systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL and a proven ability to manage cross-functional support initiatives. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
5+ years of experience in application support, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong expertise in SQL ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.
Solid hands-on experience with SAP Business One administration, configuration, reporting (e.g., Crystal Reports), and user support.
Experience supporting enterprise applications in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is highly preferred.
Familiarity with validation and compliance processes (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ITIL practices and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
Project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Exposure to cloud-hosted environments and remote access for SAP Business One (e.g., SAP B1 on HANA, AWS-hosted deployments).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the application support function across core business applications, including SAP Business One and other enterprise tools.
Serve as the escalation point for complex application issues, coordinating with internal teams, SAP partners, and third-party vendors.
Drive root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring incidents.
Oversee and optimize SQL queries and database interactions (e.g., SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server) to ensure application performance and integrity.
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational requirements, provide system solutions, and improve SAP B1 usage and reporting.
Maintain application documentation, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Manage a small team or collaborate with offshore/onshore support resources, as applicable.
Coordinate and support SAP B1 upgrades, patches, and customizations while ensuring minimal business disruption.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and data governance standards, particularly in life sciences environments.
