Description
We are looking for a skilled Product Support Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will play a critical part in consolidating and reorganizing technical documentation to enhance the usability and functionality of our web-based platform. This position involves working with Madcap Flare and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical expertise and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough audit and inventory of existing documentation files across multiple Madcap Flare projects.
Consolidate and merge various Flare projects into a unified master project, ensuring proper organization and compatibility.
Update and correct internal links to align with the new documentation structure.
Reformat and adapt documentation to meet website navigation, search, and styling requirements.
Utilize Madcap Flare's APIs, macros, or scripting tools to automate content reorganization, link editing, and duplication removal.
Collaborate with internal teams through weekly meetings to set priorities and review project progress.
Communicate proactively to address challenges, dependencies, and technical requirements.
Develop scripts or tools to streamline documentation processes and ensure consistency.
Document processes, tools, and handover materials for future maintenance by internal staff.
Requirements
Advanced proficiency with Madcap Flare, including project architecture and scripting capabilities.
Strong ability to automate repetitive tasks such as link fixing and batch editing.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Python and CSS for technical implementation and customization.
Solid computer literacy and familiarity with documentation standards.
Excellent communication skills to clarify requirements and explain technical solutions.
Ability to adapt and format content to align with web navigation and styling needs.
