Job Description

IPS - RMB Products is seeking a CNC Supervisor who is responsible for directly supervising and coordinating the activities of the CNC employees. The CNC Supervisor is also responsible for developing code and instructions to operate CNC machines and tools, and reading blueprints, translating product designs into computer models, choosing cutting tools, adjusting machine settings, troubleshooting, and maintaining inventory.

Job Accountabilities:
    \n
  • Direct the efforts of subordinates in their daily activity through work assignments to meet production schedules.
  • \n
  • Provide guidance, instruction, and training to produce a quality product in a safe manner.
  • \n
  • Provide technical advice to the Engineering and Sales Departments for value stream products.
  • \n
  • Ensure value stream objectives are met in regard to on time delivery and quality.
  • \n
  • Observe all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, respirators, etc. as required.
  • \n
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, lean initiatives, 5S, etc.
  • \n
  • Ensure that all documentation related to work performed in the value stream is accurate and filled out in a timely manner.
  • \n
  • Hires, coaches, reviews, supervises and terminates assigned employees or makes effective suggestions and recommendations that are given weight regarding the employment status of assigned employees.

  • Maintains time, payroll and materials records as required.
  • \n
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Perform functions of CNC Operator/Programmer, including but not limited to the following:
      \n
    1. Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
    2. \n
    3. Review and obtain proper tooling.
    4. \n
    5. Program extremely close tolerance parts.
    6. \n
    7. CNC program in Mastercam (2020) 3, 4, and 5 axis geometry.
    8. \n
    9. Proving out programs prior to machining, machining of parts and tools through CNC machining on 3-axis vertical mills, large capacity 5-axis CNC router, 2-axis lathe and manual machining.
    10. \n
    11. Work with operators, program managers, and engineers to determine project scope, schedule, and important job details.
    12. \n
    13. Determine methods, tooling, feeds, speeds, and all other necessary requirements for manufacturing of parts.

Job Specifications:

Education: An associate's degree in engineering, machine technology, or related fields, or CNC Programming Certificate preferred.

Years' Experience: A minimum of 5 years' practical experience through apprenticeships or positions in manufacturing/machining required.

Skills:
    \n
  • Must be proficient in Solidworks and Mastercam.
  • \n
  • Must read and interpret blueprints and customer expected specifications.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of machining a variety of materials including, but not limited to, composites, metals, and plastics.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of machining functionality and ability to diagnose performance issues.
  • \n
  • Solid math and geometry skills are required.
  • \n
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office, Advanced Excel, and experience with Visual Manufacturing Software is a plus.
  • \n
  • Required to conduct work on-site in a plant/warehouse environment.
  • \n
  • Requires communication skills both written and orally in the English language.
  • \n
  • Requires excellent safety practices, which includes keeping a clean work area.
  • \n
  • Interpersonal skills are essential and vital.
  • \n
  • Effective processing of changes through RMB feedback and reviews.
  • \n
  • Requires personal responsibility and accountability meeting workmanship standards with little supervision to complete assignments.
  • \n
  • Proficient with measurement tools, hand tools, and shop equipment.
  • \n
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.

  • Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and techniques of RMB Products.
