Description
We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to play a key role in managing and optimizing Active Directory and related technologies. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to support critical IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and efficient. The role is based in Houston, Texas, and provides the flexibility of a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain servers and associated components to support business needs.
Administer Active Directory and related technologies, including Azure Entra ID, AD Connect, and Microsoft Certificate Authority.
Monitor and analyze system performance, ensuring reliability and availability through proactive maintenance and updates.
Develop tools and scripts, such as PowerShell, to enhance system management and automate tasks.
Provide break/fix support for operating systems and software, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify system requirements and propose cost-effective solutions.
Oversee system testing, integration, and user acceptance processes to ensure seamless deployments.
Research and evaluate industry trends to recommend improvements and long-term IT strategies.
Assist with domain mergers, divestitures, and merger and acquisition activities.
Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, customers, and sponsors to align technical solutions with business goals.
Requirements
Proficiency in administering Active Directory, including Sites and Services Configuration, Azure Entra ID, and AD Connect.
Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting for task automation and system management.
Experience with Microsoft Certificate Authority and related licensing.
Basic understanding of networking concepts, such as IP subnetting.
Familiarity with cloud technologies and their integration with on-premises systems.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to address system performance and reliability issues.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present technical solutions effectively.
Availability for occasional night and weekend work, as well as 24-hour on-call support.
