Business Intelligence (BI) Lead

• Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, and Data Warehousing
• Enable self-service governance for data analysis and management, including creating and implementing policies and strategies
• Communicate with stakeholders to understand their data and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and operations, and other departments to ensure that data is accurate and accessible to meet business needs
• Monitor data quality and accuracy and take action to resolve any issues
• Manage and develop a team of BI analysts and developers
• Develop and implement business intelligence & analytics to support organizational initiatives
• Analyze business requirements to design and develop optimal technical solutions using approved tools and methodologies
• Support full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and training for building BI solutions
• Build star schema data models, performing ETLs and validating results with business representatives
• Drive pragmatic approaches to solving key complex business problems through a variety of business intelligence tools. Ability to bring the right data technique to solve the problem in an explainable manner to business partners
• Grow the data and technical environment by researching new technologies and techniques to create efficient process around data extraction, security, aggregation and analytics, and governance
• Execute advanced data analytics models with effective and practical short- and long-term actionable solutions
• Estimate solution cost (including tools, tasks, complexity, resources and time)
• Collaborate with internal business units to better understand needs and provide necessary support
• Work with power users of the analytics/reporting tools to advice on best practices for the business Intelligence reporting
• Present information through reports/dashboards and visualization
• Support implemented BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues
• Document and maintain BI solutions
• Engage customers at all levels to understand challenges and needs to develop technical solutions

• Bachelor's degree in computer and information science or related major. Master's degree in business intelligence is desirable
• 7+ years of hands-on Microsoft Power BI, Azure Synapse, and Data Factory, Data Warehouse, ETL, SQL Server, Informatica and BI development
• Experience with self-service governance, including creating and implementing policies and strategies
• 2+ years of hands-on experience designing and building data lake-based solutions
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities that include articulating a vision of future trends for analytics, developing a detailed roadmap for the realization of that vision, and managing the resources to the successful development and implementation
• Experience modeling Oracle Cloud ERP data, SAP C4C, and IBM Maximo systems a plus
• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid-cloud implementations including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
• Experience with a variety of business intelligence tools and applications, such data visualization, data mining and analytics, ETL/EDW, data processing, and data storage tools
• Ability to write SQL queries, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases
• Experience with advanced visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. Expertise in creating the appropriate data visualizations to uncover patterns in data to answer business questions
• Experience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS, Informatica IICS
• Experience in design and development of data warehouse, data marts, and data lake technology stack
• Experience in utilizing cloud technologies for building BI solutions
• Experience with best practices of Business Intelligence architectures and processes such as Star Schema/Kimball dimensional data modelling
• Experience within the Microsoft stack of technologies is preferred
• Experience deploying reporting and dashboard solutions
• Knowledge of predictive and prescriptive analytics, data mining a plus (Python and R preferred).
• Knowledge of the tools, technologies and practices needed to perform in-depth analysis of both structured transactional data, and semi-structured or unstructured data
• Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills, with a proven track record of using data to provide actionable business results
• Experience in validating an overall solution from the perspective of performance, scalability, security and capacity
• Effective communicator. Must be able to express complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to understand and improve business processes
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solution design/concepts and tasks for the engineers
