LAB TECHNICIAN
Diboll, TX
Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM
$18/HR or more depending on experience
Position overview: Operate within a team environment. Perform a variety of chemical tests and physical testing. Prepare chemical products from formulations and instructions provided by responsible chemists. Prepare wood panel products using pilot lab equipment from instructions provided by chemist.

Responsibilities:
- Assists the chemists with the formulation of chemical products meeting their specific needs
- Prepare and test wood panel products
- Perform a variety of laboratory tasks including the use of small-scale machinery and some instrumentation
- Assist with the monitoring of plant batches during scale-up
- Assist with maintaining laboratory chemical inventory
Safety/Housekeeping:
- Maintain safe workplace and practices
- Maintain clean and orderly work area and become familiar with standard operating procedures and SDS's
Competencies:
- Understand the importance of teamwork-capable of working on multi-functional teams
- Strong communication skills (oral and written), paying close attention to details and observing trends
- Solid computer skills and experience with database programs with some statical knowledge
- Familiar with standard acid-base reactions and chemical handling procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of prior experience in a chemical laboratory operation
- HS degree or equivalent
- Technical associates degree preferred
- Physical requirements - lifting (50lbs), standing/ sitting for extended periods of time, ability to work in environments with elevated temperatures and humidity
