Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality assurance efforts for aerospace coatings and thermal spray manufacturing
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and customers regarding product and process quality
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and APQP initiatives from prototype through production
  • Manage customer and internal source inspections, including preparation and reporting
  • Analyze and resolve nonconformances using root cause analysis (8D, DMAIC) and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain quality procedures and documentation per AS9100, NADCAP, and customer requirements
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and non-destructive inspections on aerospace components
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits, including ISO and NADCAP audits
  • Develop inspection criteria, work instructions, and testing protocols for quality compliance
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement and KPI performance
  • Interface with engineering, purchasing, and production to review contracts, PO quality requirements, and MRB processes
  • Mentor and train personnel on quality standards and inspection methods

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Aerospace quality
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, NADCAP standards, and industry-specific quality systems
  • Six Sigma certification and hands-on Lean implementation experience
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection tools/techniques
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, conduct inspections, and write technical documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally

Nice to Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent work experience (10+ years)
  • ASNT Level III FPI certification
  • Prior startup or rapid-growth manufacturing environment experience
  • Industrial gas turbine or IGT component background
  • Experience with supplier quality and customer audits
  • International customer or project experience
