Job Title: DC Support Senior Engineer
Location: Wichita, KS (onsite)

Job Summary: The Hands and Feet Datacenter Support Engineer is responsible for on-site support in data center operations. This role requires physical presence in the data center at Wichita, Kansas to assist with equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and general Datacenter support tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data center procedures and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical installations and decommissioning of servers, network equipment, and other hardware.
  • Assist in equipment rack and stack activities while ensuring proper cable management.
  • Support troubleshooting of hardware issues, including replacing defective components and executing repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on servers and network devices.
  • Collaborate with remote technical L1/L2/L3 teams for diagnosis and resolution of complex hardware issues as necessary
  • Collaborate with different hardware OEM vendors for different maintenance activities as well as part replacement activities
  • Handle faulty parts shipping activities to different hardware OEM vendors
  • Participate in data center inventory management by tracking equipment and ensuring proper inventory documentation is maintained including rack locations
  • Provide support during scheduled maintenance windows during weekdays as well as weekends and during emergency support activities out of Business hours
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols within the data center.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by following standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in coordination for data center power and cooling management as required.
  • Document work performed, including logs of maintenance and installations.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering graduate or equivalent; technical training in IT, networking, or a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of previous experience in a Datacenter, IT support, or similar technical support role
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, server hardware, and data center operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required in emergency situations

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Networking, or similar IT certifications.
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure and best practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily conducted in a data center environment.
  • This role may require standing for extended periods and performing troubleshooting tasks.
