Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
- Responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining EHS programs, procedures, practices, and training for the
- site in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Work collaboratively with site personnel and management to address EHS-related incidents, hazards, risks, programs, processes,
- and systems.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action plans.
- Evaluates processes for appropriate hazard controls through active participation in risk assessments, while also proactively
- identifying and mitigating risks related to the environment, equipment, processes, chemicals, etc. Provide support for critical risk
- initiatives, gap assessments, and implementation planning
- Participate and/or lead risk assessments and mitigation efforts
- Coordinate participation and management of the incident and near miss investigation process
- Monitor and report on key EHS metrics and performance indicators.
- Oversee the Employee Safety Advisory Board (ESAB) team
- Provides specialized expertise in improving, refining, and implementing EHS practices such as safety and health policies,
- recordkeeping, tools, standards, and effective approaches.
- Deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and management.
- Accountable to Koerber's critical risk initiatives, gap assessment and implementation planning
- Manage hazardous materials, waste disposal, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Good communication and training skills to be able to deliver toolbox topics
- Experience in facilitating incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic record keeping system such as VelocityEHS, MSDS Online, HumanTech, ENHESA, etc.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability
- Strong understanding of industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and environmental compliance.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Data analysis and reporting skills for EHS metrics and KPIs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Capable of guiding teams and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Safety & Health, Safety Management, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist
