Enterprise Application Architect (AWS)
Location:
Dallas, Texas ONSITE 3 days/week
Contract: 6 months with potential extension

We re seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Application Architect with deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture and enterprise application design. This role provides architectural leadership for major enterprise programs, collaborating across business and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

14+ years in IT application development

7+ years in solution/application architecture

3+ years in an enterprise architect role

Strong hands-on experience with AWS; familiarity with Azure and IBM Cloud

Deep understanding of:

o Cloud-native design (serverless, microservices, containers)

o DevOps, CI/CD, Terraform, CloudFormation

o Networking, IAM, cloud security, and data storage

o Cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory requirements

Proficient in Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript

Strong communication, documentation, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain enterprise application and cloud architecture patterns and standards

Serve as lead architect on large-scale initiatives, ensuring solutions are aligned with business goals and IT strategy

Collaborate with technical leads, developers, and stakeholders to design secure, high-performance, scalable architectures

Guide architecture review processes (ARB, ESRB) and validate solution designs

Provide technical direction for:

o Application development (cloud and on-prem)

o Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) integrations

o DevOps, container platforms (e.g., OpenShift), and automation (Terraform, CloudFormation)

o AWS networking (VPC, IAM, security, storage)

Drive alignment with best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies

Support technology roadmap planning, vendor evaluation, and tool selection

Engage in cloud security discussions and evolving threat assessments

Deliver timely and effective architecture assessments and documentation

Act as a trusted advisor within cross-functional teams, proactively identifying risks and guiding strategic decisions

Ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements and are validated post-deployment
