PeopleSoft HCM Developer
Location: Oakland, CA (100% Remote Must reside in California)
Type: 6-Month Contract (with potential extension)

Position Overview

The PeopleSoft HCM Developer will support UCPath, UCOP's PeopleSoft HCM ERP system, with a focus on Base Benefits and Benefits Administration. The developer will design, develop, enhance, and support complex PeopleSoft HCM functionality and integrations while working closely with business and technical stakeholders. This role also includes advanced production support and participation in on-call rotations.

Required Experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.x

  • Experience on at least two large-scale implementation projects with multi-site user bases

  • Advanced solution design and development for PeopleSoft HCM applications, specifically the Benefits module

  • Deep knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM data model

  • Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and web development tools to enhance Fluid UI accessibility and navigation

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in development activities for UCPath (PeopleSoft HCM ERP) across Benefits and Benefits Administration modules

  • Design and deliver defect-free system enhancements following best practices

  • Collaborate with development teams, SMEs, and campus stakeholders

  • Prepare and review technical documentation and system specifications

  • Perform highly complex debugging, data analysis, and algorithm design

  • Provide advanced production support, troubleshoot system issues, and design long-term solutions

  • Participate in support rotations and on-call coverage as required

Technical Skills
  • Advanced PeopleSoft development tools and integration technologies

  • BI Publisher, Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL

  • Strong Application Engine and SQL development

  • Experience with Fluid technology, Tiles, Related Content, Event Mapping, and Page Field Configurator

  • Experience with Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, Application Engine, Fluid pages, and custom reporting

Additional Skills
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation

  • Strong collaboration and communication capabilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience with configuration strategies and object migration using STAT/PHIRE

  • Strong project leadership and software management skills

  • Experience implementing data integration and conversion plans
