Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust machine learning models that drive interactive and personalized guest experiences across Disney s parks, resorts, and digital platforms.
  • Develop end-to-end AI pipelines using Python, leveraging popular frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Integrate machine learning models and AI services into scalable production systems using Typescript for backend and frontend applications.
  • Architect and maintain data storage solutions using PostgreSQL, ensuring efficient data access, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with creative teams, UX designers, and engineers to prototype and deliver innovative, story-driven applications powered by artificial intelligence.
  • Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs that serve AI models and support seamless integration with existing Disney infrastructure.
  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and testing procedures to ensure the reliability and performance of deployed AI solutions.
  • Continuously research and evaluate new machine learning algorithms and emerging technologies to enhance Disney s storytelling toolkit.
  • Document code, model architectures, and technical decisions to facilitate knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
  • Champion best software development practices, including code reviews, agile methodologies, and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Contribute to data governance efforts, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and responsible AI standards.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience building and deploying machine learning solutions.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (required) with proficiency in ML libraries and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy).
  • Experience developing production-quality software with Typescript (Node.js and/or frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and best practices for storing ML data and model artifacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate machine learning models into scalable web applications and APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) for ML model deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, version control, and agile development cycles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners.
  • Passion for storytelling, immersive experiences, and the magic of Disney.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master s or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field.
  • Experience with real-time data processing, streaming analytics, or event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in additional backend languages such as Go, Java, or C++.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with front-end development, UI/UX prototyping, or interactive media (especially using Typescript frameworks).
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security best practices, and ethical considerations in AI.
  • Exposure to computer vision, natural language processing, or reinforcement learning.
  • Prior experience working in themed entertainment, gaming, or creative technology industries.
  • Open source project contributions or publications in the field of AI/ML.
