We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Healthcare Business Analyst for a full-time W2 position. This role will support healthcare IT initiatives by gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, and helping to implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, compliance, and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working within healthcare environments, including provider, payer, or EHR/EMR systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements from stakeholders
Develop business process models, data flows, and functional specifications for healthcare systems
Collaborate with technical teams, QA, and end users to ensure solutions meet business needs
Lead and facilitate JAD sessions, stakeholder interviews, and requirement workshops
Analyze data and workflows related to claims processing, patient records, EHR/EMR, HL7, or HIPAA compliance
Assist with UAT planning, execution, and validation of enhancements and implementations
Track and report on key project deliverables, risks, and milestones
Serve as a liaison between business units and IT to ensure alignment and success
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 4+ years in healthcare
Strong knowledge of healthcare workflows, payer/provider operations, and regulations (HIPAA, ACA, CMS)
Experience with claims processing, enrollment, eligibility, EHR/EMR systems, or care management
Proficient in writing detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and test cases
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, SQL, Excel, and Agile methodologies
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Healthcare Administration, IT, Business, or related field
Experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other EHR platforms
Knowledge of data analysis using SQL or reporting tools
CBAP, PMI-PBA, or healthcare-specific certifications (e.g., CPHIMS)
Experience working in Medicare/Medicaid or value-based care programs
