Duration: 1 year plus extensions
Job Description:
SoCalGas is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to support its Mobile As-Built initiative, with opportunities to contribute to broader enterprise-level projects across SoCalGas and SDG&E. This position focuses on architecting GIS mobile solutions and integrating them across the enterprise using cloud-native platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Esri technologies, mobile field solutions, and enterprise system integration, particularly in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS. This is a highly collaborative role requiring coordination with cross-functional teams, IT governance, and field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead architecture and design for mobile GIS systems aligned with enterprise IT standards
Support cloud-based deployment (Azure or AWS) using PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS
Define and enforce cloud security frameworks based on user roles and data sensitivity
Create and maintain detailed architecture documentation
Ensure system designs support high availability, performance, and disaster recovery
Implement data governance including spatial data lifecycle and versioning
Configure IT infrastructure to support GIS platforms and mobile field apps
Collaborate with teams to integrate GIS with enterprise systems like SAP
Must-Have Skills:
10+ years of experience in GIS architecture and enterprise integration
Hands-on expertise with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise
Experience with Esri Field Maps and mobile GIS workflows
Strong understanding of Azure or AWS deployment strategies and cloud models
Proven experience implementing DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipelines
Ability to design secure, scalable, and maintainable systems
Experience supporting field operations with mobile GIS
Nice-To-Have Skills:
SAP integration experience
Familiarity with Esri Utility Network or network-based GIS workflows
Experience with Agile environments and technical leadership across cross-functional teams
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, Engineering, or related field required. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Architect, Esri Technical Certification) preferred.
