We are seeking a full-time Level 5 Mechanical Engineer to serve as technical lead for the IFG Armament team. Applicant will be working as part of the Weapons Integration organization in the Armament Functional Team, supporting ADP, F-16, and F-22 platforms. The team has the overall design, development, testing, and integration responsibility for a number of mechanical and structural components and systems. These include the following systems: Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) which consists of pylons, adapters, launchers, and other in-house designed hardware, Suspension and Release Equipment Systems (S&RES) which include very high-pressure pneumatic ejection systems, Gun Systems (both internal and missionized pods), and the Stores Management System (SMS).

About the Role:
The responsibilities of this position will be leading the team through design, production support, certification, and end user support for Alternate Mission Equipment. Tasking will include mechanical design and integration, engineering release, and manufacturing support for developmental efforts. Secondarily, this role will provide engineering support for production fighter platforms. The successful candidate will have SME experience of Mechanical Engineering process and analysis.

You will need to be a , and be able to maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering degree
- SME expertise in weapon hardware design, development, testing, and integration.
- Aerospace engineering related experience
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 or equivalent
- Computerized modeling and drafting (CAD) experience
This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and to understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing notations

- Highly motivated with the ability to formulate logical approaches to resolving technical problems and manage multiple tasks concurrently

- Excellent oral & written communication skills

- Experience leading a team providing technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers

- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and driving collaboration with cross-functional teams

- Experience in leading large-scale, high-visibility programs and collaborating with senior stakeholders.

- Knowledge of aircraft systems, avionics, and electronics

- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.

- Experience with Project Management methodologies

- Experience managing resources, prioritize tasks, and driving program execution.

- Experience working with weapon assets.

- Experience supporting Flight Test

- Experience supporting aircraft and mission system integration test, including the development of testing plans.

- Experience with Interface Control Documents (ICD) development

- Experience developing BOE's.

- Experience developing Weapons CONOPS

- Understanding of FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, and Root Cause Corrective Action.

- Ability to travel domestic and international

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
