Job Description: Linux Administrator Ansible Developer
Pay Rate - $45/hr on C2C
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Ansible Developer with Linux administration knowledge. The ideal candidate will have an automation-first mentality, a strong background in design and develop using Ansible for infrastructure automation, and the ability to work independently. This role demands a self-starter with excellent communication skills who can collaborate across teams to ensure seamless server upgrades and reliable system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute RHEL server upgrade projects across large-scale production environments using Ansible.
Design, develop, implement, troubleshoot and maintain Ansible playbooks for automation of server upgrades, configurations, and maintenance tasks.
Proactively identify opportunities for automation within Linux server management and develop solutions to improve efficiency.
Document processes and track progress using Confluence and Jira, ensuring thorough communication and record-keeping.
Ensure the stability and security of production systems by adhering to best practices in system administration and upgrade processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams, to align on upgrade timelines and requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux servers, Ansible scripts, and automated processes.
Monitor system performance and manage system updates, patching, and upgrades while minimizing downtime.
Document processes, procedures, and configurations to enhance knowledge sharing and team alignment.
Qualifications:
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration in large-scale production environments. (Red Hat Satellite or Katello)
Proficiency in Ansible for automation of Linux server management, configuration, and deployment.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to support automation and troubleshooting tasks.
Proven experience with HA and DR setups, with a focus on minimizing downtime of web applications during upgrades and maintenance.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain a high level of organization.
Knowledge and understanding of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket (GIT), Artifactory, JIRA, Confluence
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and align with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with other Linux distributions and configuration management tools is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
RHCSA or RHCE certification, or equivalent experience.
Experience with Leapp framework for upgrading RHEL OS
Experience with other automation tools such as Puppet or Chef.
Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
