Please note that this role is a 6 months contract position.

This role is ideally suited for someone located within driving distance of Council Bluffs, IA. The position involves frequent travel to project sites across the United States, with occasional travel to Canada and Mexico. A valid passport or willingness to obtain one is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with hands-on fiber splicing experience.

Strong ability to understand and analyze fiber test results.

Candidate should be able to read test results and understand OTDR

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for field documentation.

Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Willingness to travel extensively across the U.S. and occasionally to Canada and Mexico.

Must have or be willing to obtain a valid passport.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform fiber optic splicing and testing on-site at customer and data center locations.

Accurately read, interpret, and submit fiber test results to Project Managers.

Maintain detailed project documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure successful execution and release of project deliverables.

Travel weekly to job sites, typically returning home at the end of the week (Fridays); early return possible if the project finishes ahead of schedule.

Stay over weekends for multi-week projects as needed (with hotel and per diem covered).

Remain flexible for reassignment to new locations as project needs evolve.

Travel expenses, including hotel and per diem, are covered.
