Responsibilities

Act as a critical link in maintaining smooth patient flow by assisting the optometrist with pre-examination processes.

Conduct pre-screening tests and initial assessments before the doctor s examination.

Ensure an environment that reflects high-quality patient care standards.

Maintain the professional appearance of the doctor s office and pre-test room.

Understand and apply ocular terminology, abbreviations, and disease knowledge.

Clearly explain preliminary tests to patients and answer questions.

Complete all required documentation and perform vision-related testing prior to the doctor s evaluation.

Promote additional services such as visual field testing and retinal screenings when applicable.
