Genzeon has an exciting opening for Data Governance Consultant Healthcare to join our dynamic team.
Job Title: Data Governance Consultant Healthcare Location: USA (Remote)
Program Context:
Data Governance program for a single state health plan client that has been underway for about a year. The client had limited data governance practices in place, and it is now a strategic priority. Program is focused on activating each data domain (i.e., medical claims) across the health plan, using a standard playbook focused on definitions, glossaries, data quality, data life cycle management, and steady state operating model.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with team of experienced consultants and client leadership to stand up mature data governance processes data domain by data domain, leveraging our playbook and customizing to meet client needs and priorities.
  • Facilitate communication and project management of client stakeholders on key activation tasks, including
    • Define sub-domains and scope data assets into each sub-domain
    • Facilitate nomination and assignment on key leadership positions for each client data domain; navigate and triage client questions and push-back
    • Draft business glossaries and facilitate stakeholder review/approval of drafts
    • Identify data quality challenges and different kinds of data quality checks; work with tech partners to recommend data quality measures.
    • Understand and document life cycle management processes
  • Develop power point presentations and written emails in support of activation goals and related priorities. Co-facilitate client conversations
  • Manage and report on status of tasks, including detailed project planning and prioritization across multiple domains and urgent priorities
  • Note, this role will directly report to experienced consultants/managers who are leading the engagement, and will have the opportunity to upskill and take on increasing responsibility commensurate with abilities and interest
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 3-6 years professional business experience; minimum 1-2 years experience working with health insurance plans and health plan data sets
  • Ideal candidate would have also had direct experience implementing data governance in a healthcare setting
  • Proven ability to collaborate across business units and client teams, understanding health plan data domains, technical landscape, and business processes
  • Self-directed work style with demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities, identify risks, and escalate issues appropriately
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to modulate depth and tone to be most effective in different audiences. Experience developing consulting style power point presentations.
  • Executive-level consulting experience presenting data governance strategies, recommendations, and program status to program leadership
Technical Knowledge
  • Basic understanding and aptitude to learn more about health plan data and technology landscape, including with data warehouse architectures, ETL/ELT processes and data integration patterns, cloud data platforms (AWS), claims platform (NASCO), and development process for home grown solutions.
  • Ideal candidate would have also had experience with the Informatica quality suite (Axon, Marketplace, EDC or IDQ)
