Solution Architect/Analyst:
The solution architect/analyst is a member of the Client Information Systems and Technology department. The Solution Architecture team helps the enterprise and technical architects find the right IT answer to their problem by tailoring the solution to the stated business need and defining its functional requirements and stages of implementation.
The Solution Architecture team translates technical business needs into practical IS&T solutions while establishing rules and instructions for proper implementation and delivery. They do this by considering all external factors that could have an impact on the development and delivery process. Client goal is to mitigate delivery risk by developing a consensus across the organization of what is being delivered and how. They are a support system that provides structure and reduces the scope of complexity when developing and rolling out new systems and applications.
The team covers the following types of solution design:
Business architecture
Maps out a solution to business objectives with the help of a business capability map to visualize how it can impact business outcomes.
Information architecture
Assess how a user interface is structured. To facilitate usability through accessibility, navigation, intuitive, and customer centric design.
Information security architecture
Ensure that the solution fits into existing information security practices.
Application architecture
Create a map of all applications (usually in a layered structure) and how they interact with each other within the scope of a developing solution or solution set.
System and Technology architecture
Consult with the technical and enterprise architects to ensure the structural design of the IT infrastructure, integration, and application design support the proposed solution.
Scope of Activities:
Help define business solutions to meet client needs.
Facilitate work sessions to ensure that the client's business processes are understood, shared, documented, and prioritized.
Identify stakeholders, analyze, and measure the impacts (including the benefits) of implementing changes or not implementing them and identify the risks and issues.
Help estimate the scope of requests in terms of effort.
Create functional designs.
Liaise between users and the development teams and support the development.
Ensure that proposed IT solutions are pertinent to and in line with users business needs and quality assurance criteria prior to delivery.
Facilitate and/or deliver end-to-end design, both conceptual and detailed design as appropriate
Conduct an in-depth analysis of the current process/solution.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a natural flair for technology
Hard working team player prepared to work long hours, if necessary

Effectively communicate and collaborate with different areas of the business from stakeholders and Project Managers to Technical Services
Qualifications:
Any one of a variety of analytical, financial, or technical degrees
Business analysis experience
Deliver solutions across a range of technologies and platforms.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with different areas of the business from stakeholders and Project Managers to Technical
Lead workshops and create agendas that have clear outcomes.
Desired skills for solution architect/analyst include strong understanding of the following:
Information Technology and Information Systems
Experience working within a solution analysis/business architecture capacity on large and complex projects.
Software development principles
Design patterns and best practices.
Data modeling and schemas
Systems integrations
System migrations
