Role Overview
We are looking for a QA with hands-on experience in Point of Sale (POS) testing to ensure reliable, secure, and seamless retail/restaurant transactions. The role involves validating POS functionality, integrations, and performance across hardware, software, and payment systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for POS systems.
* Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of POS applications.
* Test POS hardware and peripherals (printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, payment terminals, etc.).
* Validate integrations with payment gateways, inventory systems, loyalty/rewards, and back-office applications.
* Conduct end-to-end transaction testing (cash, credit/debit, mobile wallets, discounts, returns, voids, etc.).
* Log defects, track resolution, and perform retesting.
* Support automation of POS test scenarios where applicable.
* Ensure testing aligns with compliance standards
* Provide detailed test reports and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
* 5+ years of experience in manual or automation testing of POS or retail applications.
* Knowledge of POS solutions (e.g., Client, Oracle Micros, etc).
* Strong understanding of retail/restaurant transaction flows.
* Familiarity with testing peripherals, network connectivity, and offline/online modes.
* Experience with Test/defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Testrail).
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
* Experience with test automation frameworks.
* Exposure to API testing for POS integrations.
* Familiarity with databases (SQL queries for backend validation)
