Job Description:

How the Windows Systems Administrator will make an impact:
  • Support, manage, configure and troubleshoot a VMware infrastructure.
  • Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining 2016/2019 servers.
  • Manage Active Directory objects and group policy.
  • Perform utilization analysis on existing infrastructure and provide proposals for upgrades and/or replacement.
  • Perform general system administration activities. Recommend and install upgrades, patches, new applications and equipment
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting of servers as required.
  • Configure and manage off-site storage of backup, including backup of relevant data, encryption of relevant backup data and restoration.
  • Assist end users with server/network related issues.
  • STIGing Windows application servers.
  • Analyzes and recommends alternative solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Responsible for handling after-hours on call support (when necessary).
  • Answer phones and respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Notify the team lead of all requests for support that require additional resources which result in a delay of resolution
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
  • Participate in special projects as required and willing to perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • BS and 5 yrs experience (will consider other combinations of education, certifications and years of experience).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with administrating Microsoft Windows 2012 or above.
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, Outstanding customer service, team building, and consensus building skill are a must.
  • Analytically inclined with attention to detail and accuracy and consistent follow-through to assure problems are resolved with the ability to respond to last minute requests.
  • Minimum 3 years VMware experience with both VMware and VSphere.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of an active Secret clearance at time of interview and candidate must maintain active clearance.

Certification Requirements:
  • Active/Current CompTIA Security+ ce certification
  • DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) certification (e.g., Microsoft certification)
    • If you start only with a Security+ ce, continued employment will be contingent on receiving the additional SQL/Windows certification within 3 months after your start date.
  • You are required to maintain and upgrade certifications IAW 8570 and contractual requirements.

Work Location:
  • Client Site, Arlington, VA
  • First 3 months on site requirement to acclimate to environment and training. Partial telework authorized per team lead and are subject to change on direction by mission requirements from GDIT or USG leadership.
  • Monday-Friday normal business hours
  • No alternate work schedules
  • On-site support required with some options for remote work at discretion of manager

Travel:
  • Availability to travel, but unlikely. Most team members do not have to travel.

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
