Position Summary

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will:

  • Mentor the team with a focus towards improving the availability, reliability and observability of CVS Specialty and Mail platforms while reducing the burden of toil with tooling, automation, or process change.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
  • Gain experience in building and developing observability platforms
  • Aide instrumentation with systems skills on building and operating, monitoring, metering, logging, alerting services of distributed systems at scale
  • Improve the SLA, which included maximizing operational efficiencies, strengthening incident management, problem management and knowledge sharing practices.
  • Collaborate in transformational initiatives to improve new delivery methodologies and measure key performance indicators (KPI) to drive quality across the organization.
  • Be responsible for monitoring system and application health as it relates to status reporting, system upgrades, patching, and corrective action management.
  • Ensure systems and applications are working properly and address any issues as they arise. You will handle open IT tickets that are assigned to the team and follow through on tickets until completion.
  • Offer 2nd Level Support for issues related to desktop builds, handheld and printer support. This support will entail troubleshooting configurations.
  • Lead the documentation processes for disaster recovery efforts.
  • Implement code once it has been developed by partnering with the team developers.
  • Provide creative solutions in the healthcare field related to development and support of applications for automated dispensing technology.
  • You will act as a liaison between CVS Health, company pharmacies, and vendors.

This position will be located at our Wilkes-Barre, PA Mail Order pharmacy and will require participation in a rotating 24/7 on call support 7 days a week.

This position will require up to 20% domestic travel.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in a production pharmacy environment, including user support, hardware support, and technical support of IT/Business procedures.
  • 1+ years of experience in prescription fulfillment equipment, methods, risks and opportunities as well as knowledge of pharmacy terminology
  • 1+ years of experience in Healthcare or Patient Benefits Management (PBM) experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a support capacity with a combination of the following: -SQL Server, Unix, Windows Server, Web Services / IIS, Linux, Oracle, Microsoft 365 Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure proper operation of order fulfillment processes

Experience with project prioritization and task completion for multiple projects

* Server PC desktop support experience

* Network switch swapping experience

* Experience with the following technologies
  • MySQL
  • Maria DB
  • UDB/DB2
  • PostgreSQL
  • Kubernetes
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • AppDynamics, Dynatrace or similar monitoring platform
  • IaC, Terraform, GitHub Actions, helm
  • Experience on python, Ansible, NodeJS

* Strong experience in Prometheus-Grafana

* Google Cloud Architect Certification

* Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

* Experience in Java/J2EE , Springboot

* AI/ML experience

Education
  • Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience(HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
