Job Title: Deployment Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension highly likely)
Rate: $35/hr W2

Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Deployment Engineer to support the Application Platform Engineering team responsible for Grid Management Systems (GMS). This position plays a crucial role in deploying and configuring vendor-provided software applications across both modern Kubernetes-based infrastructures and legacy enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on deployment experience, familiarity with containerization, and the ability to operate in hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the GMS Application Platform Engineer to support the deployment and integration of vendor software in production and test environments.
Perform installation, configuration, and verification testing of GMS applications.
Deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes and manage configurations effectively.
Manage and support legacy enterprise components through traditional deployment methods.
Maintain accurate deployment documentation, system environment records, and rollback procedures.
Identify and troubleshoot deployment-related issues in collaboration with internal engineering teams and third-party vendors.
Validate environment configurations meet operational requirements prior to release.
Support integration testing and system validation processes.
Provide suggestions to enhance deployment automation and CI/CD processes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Strong experience in software deployment, environment configuration, and release readiness.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
Familiarity with traditional legacy enterprise deployment practices and tools.
Proficient with Linux/Unix systems and writing/debugging shell scripts.
Understanding of networking, firewall, and security configurations related to deployments.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional DevOps, engineering, and infrastructure teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the utility or energy sector, particularly within Grid Management Systems.
Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Helm, Terraform, or Ansible.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
Familiarity with ITIL practices, change control, and service management tools.
