Job Title: Calibration/Localization Algorithm Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills Michigan (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Calibration/Localization Algorithm Engineer to develop and optimize advanced perception algorithms for surround view camera calibration, perspective transformations, and Visual SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). This role requires strong expertise in computer vision, image processing, and mathematical modeling to enhance ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) precision and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Algorithm Development & Optimization:
- Develop and enhance calibration algorithms for multi-camera systems.
- Implement techniques to correct lens distortion and camera misalignment.
- Apply mathematical methods such as homography and projective transformations for 2D-to-3D model conversion.
- Design and implement Visual SLAM algorithms for real-time localization and mapping.
- Utilize feature extraction, matching, and tracking techniques to enhance performance.
- Integrate SLAM algorithms with sensor data (LiDAR, IMU) for precision enhancement.
Performance & Validation:
- Continuously improve algorithm software for low latency and high accuracy in real-time, safety-critical environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in sensor data processing.
- Validate algorithms using real-world data and simulations.
Collaboration & Compliance:
- Work closely with hardware, software, and vehicle control engineers to integrate perception algorithms into ADAS and safety systems.
- Ensure all developed algorithms comply with automotive industry safety standards, including ISO 26262 for functional safety.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision, image processing, and machine learning.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming.
- Experience with camera calibration techniques and tools (e.g., OpenCV, ROS).
- Strong knowledge of perspective transformations and 3D reconstruction methods.
- Familiarity with Visual SLAM frameworks (e.g., ORB-SLAM, LSD-SLAM, RTAB-Map).
