RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a Technical Writer - Cyber and Physical Security.
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to support our Integrated Security Department. This role focuses on both Cyber and Physical Security documentation and requires collaboration with internal teams and subject matter experts to produce clear, accurate, and accessible content. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security principles and the ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly materials.
Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, user guides, training materials, and white papers
* Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and verify technical content
* Ensure documentation aligns with security best practices and organizational compliance standards
* Develop and manage a content strategy for security-related information
* Edit and update existing documentation to reflect current practices and technologies
* Design intuitive and navigable documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
* Promote knowledge sharing across the Integrated Security team
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, IT, IT Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience in Information Security
* Actively pursuing a relevant degree and self-studying toward certification in security or technical writing
* Understanding of IT security principles, vulnerability management, and incident response
* Experience with cyber defense tools and data collection
* Ability to identify and categorize vulnerabilities and threats
* Familiarity with SIEM tools and intrusion detection technologies
* Strong analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in both Cyber and Physical Security environments
* Background in Operations Centers
* Prior experience in software documentation and technical editing
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
