Job Details
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Manager of Application Development to lead the development and support of internal and vendor-packaged applications that enhance enterprise platforms particularly the core banking system. This individual will oversee a team of developers, drive agile best practices, and collaborate across business units to deliver high-quality software solutions that align with the organization's technology roadmap and strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of application developers, focusing on career development, performance, and project delivery.
- Oversee development activities across multiple business units, ensuring alignment with project goals and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise PMO and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of initiatives.
- Define and enforce best practices in design patterns, coding, and governance for all development efforts.
- Partner with external vendors to support integration and long-term application health.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives by gathering feedback, analyzing metrics, and optimizing processes.
- Ensure compliance with coding, information security, and regulatory standards.
Must Have's:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years' experience with financial institution technologies such as Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, or OpCon.
- Demonstrated experience with software development methodologies, version control systems, and testing practices.
- Proven leadership in people management, including coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence executive leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of agile and iterative project management methodologies.
Nice to Have's:
- Master s or additional certifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience developing and integrating core banking applications (Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen).
- Familiarity with IBM AIX operating systems.
- Proficiency in SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of ITIL framework and experience implementing standardized engineering processes.
Location: Broomfield, Colorado
(Hybrid role Onsite presence required at least 50% of the time over a two-week pay period)
Salary: $113,000 $142,000
- 8% Annual Bonus Potential
